We designed the screen on the Floz adapter to rotate allows you to turn it right or left so you can view it even if you have a large shower head.

The heart of floz is an electronic valve that turns on and off at your command. This can be done via voice command, button press, or timed activation. The valve is normally closed but is designed to always be under pressure. Once installed, you turn your normal shower valve on and to the temperature at which you normally shower. Of course, no water comes out of the shower head because the floz valve is closed.

Let’s say you like to take a shower at 104 degrees F but it takes a minute for your shower to clear out the cold water in your pipes and reach 104 degrees. 

Prior to floz, I’d have to wait 65 seconds for my shower to get that warm. I’d often turn on the water, walk away, and come back a few minutes later. I wasted a lot of water, especially if I got distracted. 

With floz, this is no longer a problem. There are several ways to activate this feature. You can use your favorite voice-enabled product like Alexa and say, “Alexa, warm my shower” or press the warm button in the app or set a scheduled timer to warm each day or double click the on button on the shower head. In each case, the water will turn on to clear the cold water out of the pipes, get to your desired temp and then turn off to wait for you to start your shower. This ensures you’ve always got a warm shower waiting for you without wasting water.

As an example of a scheduled warming plan, if you shower at a regular time each day, say at 7am, you can have floz warm your water daily at 6:55am so the water will be warm when you shower a few minutes later.

You can set a max temp above which the floz valve will close to prevent water from coming out of the shower head. If someone turns the valve to a temperature above your max, the water will stop. You can restart by overriding the feature and turning your water temp lower.

You set the water temperature with your current handle/ valve. The floz products just allow water to flow or not. Most people take showers at the same temperature so you’ll set the temp once and leave it. If you’d like to adjust temperature, you can do that at any time with your existing temp controller.

It will turn the shower on or off remotely.

You may also set a timer to automatically turn off your shower when a certain time limit has been reached. 

Data & Control.

Once you’ve started tracking your shower length, you can use floz to help you shorten it a bit. Let’s say your showers average about 10 minutes. Maybe you’d like to reduce it to 8 minutes to reduce your water usage by 20%. You can set your floz device to show a countdown timer starting at 8 minutes each time you shower. As it gets down to 30 seconds remaining, you will hear a beep as a reminder to wrap up your shower. You can even have floz turn off the shower automatically if you’d like. This is also great to get your teenagers out of the shower and on their way.
